Ok so I'm in the middle of day 3 and doing well. FYI I'm assigned specific meals and amounts for 2 weeks which are called the detoxification weeks. These are crucial to regain power through metabolism, digestion, and will power.
Personally I though these first few days would be harder. I also thought I'd be hungrier.
The meals and amounts I'm allowed are sometimes more than I normally would eat! However, I'm a snacker by nature and I'm no longer allowed to graze so I eat EVERY bite and hope I can master my mind when I think I'd like a snack.
I'm always comfortably full after a meal now. Never over stuffed, and never hungry. That doesn't mean I'm satisfied every meal (I'll always be addicted to candy and sweets) but I'm learning that food is NOT something you should be looking forward too ALL day long.
Here is an example of my meals:
Breakfast
3/4 cup 1% cottage cheese with 1 cup of blue berries (or mixed berries) + 2 teaspoons of sliced almonds (that means raw almonds folks).
Snack (10:18am)
1/2 small fruit, 1 ounce of cheese (I bought a food scale) and a small handful of raw nuts
Lunch
3 oz chicken, 2 cups of spinach salad, 2 slices of whole grain bread, 2 Tablespoons Caesar dressing (which is always too much for me. I use less).
Dinner (MUST be consumed before 6pm and NO eating afterwords)
8 Jumbo sauteed Shrimp with 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil, 1/2 cup of Cous Cous, 1 cup of steamed broccoli
I am to drink as much water as I feel necessary and to mark how many 8 oz glasses that is. My body likes about 48oz a day: more than that and I'm running to the bathroom every 20 minutes).
Anyway, things are good here, I already have more energy throughout the day, but I'm still not sleeping at night...
Oh, and for the fun of it:

Wow sounds intense, but still delish!!!
ReplyDeleteI love reading this, thanks for posting it. It is helping me to be inspired and motivated. You can do it erin. I still think you are beautiful, but it sounds like this is going to make you a happier person.
You are a rock star.
You are amazing! I remember our "portion control" talks on the mission- we'd eat for like two days with small amounts of food on our plates and then we'd get invited to someones BBQ and out went the portion control! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the last picture of Emma!
(p.s. did it taste like Georges?!)
