Happy Halloween

This year we didn't carve pumpkins, or even buy candy. In fact we're not going to be trick or treating at all. While Shane has to work Emma and I came up to Utah to visit Baby Max.

Emma does a lot of this: playing with 'Paddy-cake' her puppy in Maxwell's toys.
We've got a lot of cute snuggles
We also have one unsure puppy...look at that face!
But we did go to the church for a Trunk-or-Treat
 "Rah, Rah, Rah"
 "Goooo Ducks!"
please ignore the silly camera cord, I can't believe I let that happen...
What a cute cheerleader, thanks Uncle Scott for the fun outfit!

You can Learn a lot of things from the Flowers...

Here is my Valentine's gift! This gift keeps on giving and I LOVE it!

Some before and after shots:

The Power That I Get Each Time I Read!

Today was the Primary Program in our church ward. Phhhhoooo, what a relief to have that over, don't get me wrong we had an AWESOME program: The children worked hard, nearly all of them spoke clearly and slowly, The music was spectacular and could be heard throughout the congregation, the pianist and chorister were not only devoted to these kids, but to their service in their callings. My councilor did an outstanding job at tying the program together, but it's nice to have that scratched off my to-do list.

Our Primary chorister made the cutest goodie treats for the children today:

I had to blog about it so I can remember such a great idea for another day...

What Happens at Grandmas' stays at Grandmas' part 2

Here's some photo fun to finish off our Oregon trip:

Met and played with new friends at the park
Lion King 3D with Cathy! Reminisced about watching the original in 4th grade during class. (1994 people, 1994 was quite a while ago)
Fell in love with property we wanted to buy but can't afford.
Isn't this beautiful?! Perhaps it will still be available when we are ready...
Did the birthday thing: yes that's a coffee filter and toilet seat cover (can't you see the unease in my smile?)
Sweet Cathy, you've been my friend since 2nd grade. Love your face!
Got to fly home with Daddy, which rarely happens!

This made me laugh today

Oh it's been difficult to laugh today, I'm tired and grumpy, you know how it goes.

but this made me laugh:

I come home from my clumsy runs BEET red and dripping and I only run a short distance! (one of the many reasons I wear sunglasses and stay out of sight in the boonies when I run)

Building the Shed:

Shane, Emma, and I went back home to visit with family and friends, however, the real reason for heading home was to build a shed in my parents backyard.

It must have been a grueling process, personally I wouldn't know. If it started to rain Emma and I went inside to watch Dora the Explorer or read a book while Grandpa and Shane stayed outside. I think they did an awesome job, now if that special order door would hurry up so the shed could be used!

What happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's (part 1):

Emma seems to get away with everything when we go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, even when I'm there, even if I'm in the same room. Admittedly it makes me laugh to see my dad give Emma whatever she wants, he melts like a popsicle on the forth of July in her presence.

Photo recap:
She gets to ride drive the special cart at the hardware store
She gets to play with the toys  all at once without picking any of them up...
...now she thinks it's normal to leave a mess before playing with a new toy.
Please note the Oreo cookies on the table. Please note tantrum in the corner. Please note that tantrums only happened while Grandpa and Grandma were busy and out of the house and child was stuck with Mom.
Playing at the park was part of the regular schedule, not a special occasion.
Playing with Grandpa's stuff was a given, no questions asked.
Buying new toys was also a regular occurrence.
Using the phrase, "Emma help!" got her whatever she wanted.
Yup, even Daddy caved to the peer pressure of Grandma and Grandpa becoming the new 'favorites'. She about drank that whole thing on her own!
