So these are some pictures from the last little bit of my life:

Ok I did it. I just made a hundred dollar appointment to share all my hopes, fears, concerns, and goals with a complete stranger-a stranger with a PHD for that matter (for those who don’t know I happen to have a bad taste in my mouth for most doctors...).
I’ve done some research and found a dietitian/nutritionist to help me look into my health, weight, exercise, genetics, and eating habits. I have a fitness/strength and weight-loss goal that I have not yet met and it’s time to be more serious about it. Emma is over a year old and I’m certainly not getting any younger.
Why am I telling you? Why share some of the most embarrassing and personal information with the blogging world: because recently I read somebody else’s personal confession to hold themselves more accountable and I want to be held accountable too. Because telling your visiting teachers “Yeah, I’d like to loose more weight and be healthier.” won’t cut it anymore, because I believe if I wait any longer I may simply give up.
I don’t believe fad diets or extreme popular diet plans will work for me and my personality. Being accountable with the help of a medical professional will-with time, patience and old fashioned hard work.
Emma’s Under the Sea Jamboree:
Ok ok so I had to start with this picture because I am flabbergasted at the outcome. Emma does not like chocolate cake. She’ll eat chocolate chip cookies, chocolate fudge bars, and brownies but not my homemade chocolate cake and frosting...hmmm
Maybe my teachings of not grabbing the spoon out of my hand worked a little TOO well-that sounds better I’ll stick with that.
Anyway, we had a fun time. I decided a first birthday was special but not worth getting stressed and worked up over. So we kept things casual with a small guest list, few decorations and simple themed activities.
September 4th 2009 I spent the day in Park City Utah shopping with my mom. Next we went with Shane and visited the Aquarium in Sandy...Draper? I don’t remember but it was way fun and such a great price. Next we went out to eat at the Mayan Adventures (where you pay more for the atmosphere than the quality of food). The next morning I was laboring my Emma into this world.
September 4th 2010 we took our little family and visited the Aquarium at Mandalay Bay on the Strip. We loved it! Emma was very alert and aware of what was going on with the fish (not to mention I got to see my favorite animal: The Green Sea Turtle).
"Holy Cow is that a REAL shark?!"
Plus we played at the splash park where Emma towed me around and made me run through the sprinklers etc.
My Sweet Emma Bean,
the 5th of September 2009 you joined our little family, showing us your desire for exact obedience by coming on your due date.
Your nose was temporarily crooked from your journey into this world and you could yell like you were training for the Opera. You were so petite and still are. You melted your Daddy’s heart quickly and changed our lives Eternally. As your parents we fell in love with no reservations.
Emma at 1 Year...
