Redneck Wednesday: Cats

Well I have to admit I'm starting to understand why rednecks keep their cats outside. Do I think it's a good idea to add to the outdoor epidemic (see other post HERE)? No. Do I want to keep my clean and fluffy whisker faces outside? No. But I literally said yesterday:

"No more coloring on the cat!"

This sentence (and more like it) could have been avoided altogether if I allowed my cats outside. Sure the damage wasn't permanent, and yes the cat with more white fur was smart enough to keep her distance; but who wants to keep a straight face when trying to discipline a 3 year old for coloring on an animal?

The culprit
The Victim
The witness

The evidence
Actually there's green, pink, and blue. Most of the evidence is on the forearms , hidden by the multi-colored fur.

Emma-ism: Grocery Shopping

I have a knack for picking the slowest lines at the grocery store.

Yesterday while waiting we all watched what the customer before us was purchasing. We were all tired  and antsy from the wait. At the tail end of her stack was a pizza.

Shane says: "I'm sorry to say, I could really go for a pizza today."

Emma: "Well you should steal some!"

[insert shocked looks from both parents, shocked to the point of laughter even]

Shane: "Where did you learn that?! We don't joke about stealing, we don't steal."

Guess Family Home Evening will be on the 10 commandments, ASAP!

Six Months

Sweet Parker-roo you are half a year old today! I don't know how it happened (I'm sure I'll always be saying that).

New born: November 2012

Emma (above 4 months) and Parker (below 6 months)

You are rolling over officially now. You go (always to the right) from your back to tummy to back again-so cute.

Week 21: just woke up from a good nap and happy to see your Mama.
Parker, your emotions, desires, and needs are more complex. For example, instead of just being tired, you'll be tired and want to snuggle but only with a certain blankie. Or you'll want to play with your book but you would rather play while sitting up vs. lying down.
Week 22: You were uninvited to our Sunday Video-chat with grandparents.
Week 22: How you play with everything right now.
Week 22: exploring flowers with your best friend, Emma.
I  love how happy you are, this house is such a happier place with you in it.
Week 24: Helping me with laundry.

I'm growing quite proud of your fuzz. You see, I have bald babies until age 2 or so but I've been watching those cute little blondies start to make an entrance on your kissable noggin.

Look closely, you'll see the hair!
You are affectionate and loyal to the ladies of your life. You and Emma are really becoming friends. In fact, you and Emma are practically inseparable. If she's in another room you'll wiggle your body around so you can see where she is and what she is doing. You'll cry if she leaves the room, and she'll beg for you to come join her for quiet time.
Week 23
Your last Dr. appointment you were in the 1 percentile. You weighted 13lbs and were 24inches long. The Dr. was concerned with you being so small but I've been monitoring your food intake and feel confident that you just have short parents with petite body frames. We'll see how you take to solid foods this month, maybe you'll really bulk up (somewhere besides those cute cheeks).
Week 23: Loving your Mama.
I've been working on you saying Mama before you say Dada. We practice when Daddy's away, but the only new sounds to date have been a 'Ba' and a 'Mwah'.
Week 24: Still loving your Mama.
Week 24: so cute
Dec. 19th: 1 Month old
May 19th: 6 Months old

Life is good, we're so glad to have you in it Mr. Man.

The Good Life

Happy Friday everybody, I'm happy to report that my handsome husband is safe and sound in spite of being in the hot zone of Texas on Wednesday night (tornados). Needless to say that was a long and sleepless night.

Now just for the sake of cuteness here is an eighteen second glimpse into my life. Just a normal day pretending to be bears.

Trees

I was taking some pictures of the two trees in our backyard and it quickly turned into taking pictures of little miss:

Look at the cute little leaves budding out, oh and that gorgeous Utah sky.

Ready or not here I come.
Mom you found me!
She is sweet.

Redneck Wednesday: Lawn Mower

Why don't rednecks own a lawn mower?

                      Because they own a goat!

Please note the difference in [green] grass just right of the goat pen: tall, out of control, and untouched.
'Lawn mower' in action.

This goat has two different pens set up for keeping the front and back yard in check.

Happy Mothers Day to Me!

I had a great day Saturday. We celebrated with love notes, surprises, good food, great laughs, and glorious time together.

Shane and I enjoyed an afternoon in St. George at the temple too, I didn't even have to call the babysitter!

I love this family of mine, the ones that are providing me the opportunity to be a Mom.

While we were away the babysitter took it upon herself to 'interview' and record Emma with Mother's day questions. I just love what was said:

How old is Mom?
I don't know

What color is Mom's hair?
Brown

Why does Mom love Dad?
Cuz they got married

Why did they get married?
Cuz they had to

When is Mom funny?
When she laughs!

What is best about Mom?
I really love her so much!

What does Mom Eat?
Tatoes & Chicken Nuggets!

What does Mom Love?
ME!

What does Mom like to do?
Play with me, I know that she loves me & really likes me!

p.s. Best Mother's Day gift EVER (see pictures)

Those that know my daughter doesn't eat food will understand the significance of these pictures:

Spaghetti was dipped like french fries into both apple sauce and red sauce.

It was consumed without any hesitation, no complaints even.

Action was repeated again and again and again!
